The air brick
Things have been moving ever so slowly.
On the upside, I have sourced an air brick to replace the broken cast iron one that came out of the back wall.

The brickie is coming around on Thursday evening to brick up the football-sized hole in the back wall, and to replace the missing brick in the bedroom. See how nicely it matches the chemical damp proof holes in the wall...

Ah, and I managed to get the cement render off that bit of the wall. The bricks are slightly defaced because of this, so we might want to re-render with a lime-based product.
I even have the special lime mortar stuff from the Old House Store near Henley-on-Thames.
After finding lots more rotten wood, we have decided to look for a building contractor to do the works. Here is one of the quotes, if you are interested. If you would like to donate money, please contact me. :-)

Not that we are giving up on the DIY ethos, but we need help with coordinating everything, and some things just need to get done by pros.
