Lime plaster
Today, the lime plasterers came to put on the 'scratch coat'. And Building Control checked the electrics, only to find that we have to run everything under protective shields. As plastic would not be any good for the lime plaster, we settled for metal.
Fortunately, our lovely electrician was on site and swiftly sourced the stuff, and fixed it on top of the cables, so the lime plasterers could go about their business.
This is the 'sparky'.
This is the plasterer - is there a nickname for plasterers?
Here you can see the horse and goat hair in the lime plaster. The stuff they mixed was fantastic, sticks like glue but is flexible and sturdy, because of the hair.
The first coat is on. Some areas could be left, and were just covered with a lime-based foundation to make sure the second coat adheres.
It feels like a totally different kitchen already.
