Open garden: The Hyde
The Hyde manor house (East Hyde, near Luton). A bit bigger than our house, but it might provide inspiration.

The house itself is empty. Apparently, only the ground floor is being maintained, and is hired out to film companies, etc.

A path bordered by purple and white lilies.

An acer tree (I think) and somebody sitting on the bench behind...

Ah, the somebody is my OH (looking pensive, not bored - ed.)!

If you look closely, you can see that this lady is carrying away: plants from the plant sale; rhubarb from the rhubarb sale (just as we did).

An unusual looking magnolia tree.

A nicely weathered brick wall (we also like the brick bond).

An interesting house in the garden - probably the old gardener's lodge (the lodge being old, not necessarily the gardener).

Victorian greenhouses...

...and inside: lots of pelargoniums.

The prettiest flowers...

A bird we have yet to identify - can you help? (Click on the photo below to enlarge it.)

Now that's what I call rhubarb.
