Top or flop?

  

I bought this chair on eBay. It was a 'make an offer' thing. The moment I offered (a little more than half the asking price), I had second thoughts. 

Well, my offer was accepted. I went to pick it up and was pleasantly surprised. I actually think it is nicer than I hoped.  Rather lovely and on the right side of kitsch.

The OH hates it, and needed about three hours to regain his composure, after he came home to it last night.

What do you think?

Update: I've given in to the OH's complaints - and sold the chair on (making a loss, of course, but hey). It is going to a good home in the local area :-)
